2019 Lifetime Achievement Award:

Dr. Phil Stricken, Turf Dr. Phil

Dr. Phil has been a player in this industry since the STC had its first formal meeting. Dr. Phil has served on many many task teams and committees over this time and has represented both Shaw and the turf industry with the greatest of class and integrity. He has served on so many teams and task force groups and as a technical adviser to the STC that I can't possibly list all. Technical support overall has been his greatest leadership role within the STC. 

Phil has represented the industry at large via ASTM leadership, STC leadership, NFL leadership, FIFA leadership, FIH and Rugby to name a few. Phil has presented many many papers on various subjects at national and international conferences regarding various turf subject matter from infill to cooling turf. 

Dr. Phil is an avid supporter of the Chick-Fil-A Orphan and Foster Care program and serves as a house parent from time to time. Phil is active in both his church family and the local Dalton, GA area. He gives without expecting anything in return and epitomizes the role of servant leadership! 

Dr. Phil has fostered many advancements in the industry on infill systems, pad systems and turf fabric and fiber elevation throughout the years. Dr. Phil holds numerous US and international patents on all of the important subject matter used in the production and installation of turf fields.
