The 2020 recipient unwaveringly served his company, clients and industry throughout his four-decade career in sports surfacing.  Sadly, Andrew E. Belles – known by his friends, colleagues and family as Andy – passed away on July 29th, 2019 after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Andy held a variety of positions over the years and spent the last half of his career as “Mr. AstroTurf”. He was a patent holder, product developer, marketer, and liaison to the Synthetic Turf Council, other trade associations and sports governing bodies.

Perhaps his most lasting impact came from the relationship he developed with clients and colleagues.  Andy was generous with his knowledge, his time, and his spirit, and took the time to mentor young talent and to nurture the best in people. He advocated for his clients and their needs, and lived life to the fullest.

During his battle, Andy taught others how to walk through illness with grace, dignity and humility. His positive attitude was unmistakable and infectious. He will be missed by all.
