2022 STc lifetime achievement award

NORRIS R. LEGUE, SYNTHETIC SURFACES, INC. 

The STC Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an outstanding STC individual member who has made a lasting impact on the artificial turf industry and has dedicated their professional life to the advancement of the industry and promoting the ideals of the STC.

This year’s recipient was a pioneer in synthetic turf adhesive products and valued STC member. Norris R. Legue, President and Owner of Synthetic Surfaces, Inc. was an original member of the STC and attended every meeting from 2003 to 2019.

Sadly, Norris passed away at the age of 85 on May 29, 2022, at his home in Fanwood, NJ.

Around 1969, Norris developed the first one-part urethane adhesive used successfully to glue down a synthetic turf football field. He owned six patents. Hence, the reason that his peers dubbed him the “Guru of Glue”.
