The STC Sports Project of the Year Award - Single Field over 75,000 Sq. Ft. recognizes an outstanding sports project installed by an STC member company that exhibits innovation and quality reflective of the STC mission.

This STC Award recipient is the provider of the Finlayson Synthetic Field at Topaz Park in Victoria, British Columbia.

This project transformed Topaz Park by upgrading a 17-year-old soccer field into a state-of-the-art synthetic turf facility, featuring full-sized and U12 pitches, enhanced landscaping, and inclusive amenities for both athletes and park visitors. 

The reorientation of the field and the reuse of the old pitch materials increased the facility’s utility while reducing waste. 

The installation of eco-friendly features such as EPDM infill, LED lighting, and an advanced drainage system ensures the field meets environmental goals while providing year-round access for sports and recreation.
