The STC Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an outstanding STC individual member
who has made a national or international impact on the artificial turf industry, and has dedicated their professional life to the advancement of the industry and promoting the ideals of the STC.
Joe Motz, CEO and founder of The Motz Group,
started with just a pickup truck in 1977.
His journey wasn’t easy, but through perseverance and embracing vulnerability, Joe transformed his leadership approach, creating an employee-owned company dedicated to improving lives worldwide.
As Chairman of the Synthetic Turf Council from 2007 to 2009, Joe spearheaded initiatives like the Public Outreach & Education Campaign and the Code of Ethics.
He met with industry leaders, government officials, and key
stakeholders to advocate for the safety and innovation of synthetic turf.
Beyond the industry, Joe’s heart for giving back is unwavering.
Joe leads by example for Motz Employee Owners and the industry, championing "Motz
Moves," the company's Purpose arm, which empowers the team and supports community partners to create positive, lasting change.
From his solo 6,500-mile bike journey raising funds for Parkinson’s, to his 2024 Paddle for a Purpose, Joe is
bringing to life the company purpose of “Motz moves people to better lives.”
